Car and truck collide: Driver dies
A man has died in an accident in Middle Franconia. The 67-year-old driver was driving on the B470 federal highway near Höchstadt an der Aisch (Erlangen-Höchstädt district) on Monday when, for reasons that were initially unclear, his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming truck. According to the police, the car driver died at the scene of the accident. The 26-year-old truck driver was uninjured, but was taken to a clinic for further treatment.
Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The damage is estimated at around 20,000 euros. The B470 remained closed for the time being.
In Central France, heavy traffic often leads to numerous accidents due to urgency and distraction. Unfortunately, a fatal accident occurred on a busy road, resulting in the death of a driver, even as the other driver involved escaped unharmed.
