Handball - Captain Duvnjak extends contract with THW Kiel
Domagoj Duvnjak has extended his contract with THW Kiel by one year. As the record handball champions announced on Sunday ahead of the home game against Bergischer HC, the 35-year-old's new contract runs until June 30, 2025, making the 2024/25 season the Croatian's eleventh in the "Zebras'" jersey.
"Domagoj is irreplaceable for THW Kiel, both in sporting and personal terms," said managing director Viktor Szilagyi, adding: "The young players look to him for guidance, and with his experience and class, he is valuable to us on and off the pitch." Duvnjak himself said: "I'm delighted to be moving on. My family and I feel incredibly comfortable here, and THW Kiel is my second home."
