Onset of winter - Cancellation of soccer matches in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg
From Friday to Sunday, there will be no soccer matches at state level in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. "The general cancellation applies to all match categories (district class C to Oberliga) and all age groups (men's, women's and youth)," announced the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association (SHFV) on Thursday.
"The snowfall of the past few days and in particular the extreme temperatures are preventing matches from being played almost without exception throughout Schleswig-Holstein," it said. The ball is therefore suspended due to the pitch conditions and for the protection of all players - initially only on the coming weekend.
The Hamburg Football Association (HFV) also canceled all matches (points, cup and friendly matches) in consultation with the district authorities, cities and municipalities.
