Training of hospital staff - Cabinet approves 30 million euros for Dessau Hospital
The state government is providing nearly 30 million Euro to the City Hospital Dessau for a new teaching building. With these funding resources, the necessary training capacities can be expanded, stated Health Minister Petra Grimm-Benne (SPD). This will secure the workforce requirements. The existing old building stock is not expandable, and a new building is indispensable for the hospital.
The City Hospital Dessau plans to build a new Institut- and Teaching Building with an estimated cost of around 30 million Euro. By 2027, a new building is to be constructed, in which the Institute for Pathology, Clinical Chemistry and Labor Diagnostics, as well as the Nursing School, will be accommodated. According to the state government, around 100,000 female and male patients are treated annually at the City Hospital Dessau. More than 2,000 people are employed there as a maximum service provider.
The City Hospital Dessau is located in Saxony-Anhalt, supporting the health needs of numerous Municipalities in the region. Due to the expansion of training capacities, the Clinic staff at Dessau's City Hospital will significantly benefit from the new teaching building.
