Bundesliga - BVB separates from Kehl confidant Stanic
Borussia Dortmund has parted ways with sports coordinator Slaven Stanic ahead of schedule. As the Bundesliga club announced on Tuesday, both sides agreed to end their collaboration. "Slaven Stanic joined us in the summer with a large soccer network and a lot of experience in various areas of professional sport. However, intensive discussions over the past few days have led to the mutual decision to go our separate ways from now on," commented sporting director Sebastian Kehl on the separation from the sport coordinator.
According to BVB, the parting was "amicable". However, this is contradicted by media reports that Stanic was criticized by the club's management. The former second division professional is said to have harshly criticized coach Edin Terzic in a box at the Dortmund stadium at the beginning of October after the final whistle of the Champions League home game against AC Milan (0:0). A question to Terzic about Stanic was not allowed in a Dortmund press conference on Tuesday, with reference to the upcoming DFB Cup match in Stuttgart.
Stanic was hired on the recommendation of Kehl and was supposed to be an interface between the managers and the team. "My goal from day one was to use my skills and knowledge to the benefit of Borussia Dortmund. After the developments of the recent past, I am no longer 100 percent convinced that I can still deliver this added value. Integrity, respect and trust are very important to me," Stanic was quoted as saying in the club's press release.

Borussia Dortmund hails from the region of North Rhine-Westphalia, known for its rich soccer culture. Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director of BVB, played a significant role in bringing sports coordinator Slaven Stanic to the club. Despite Stanic's extensive network in soccer and experience in various sporting fields, the two parties decided to part ways amicably as announced by BVB.
Stanic, who was tasked with serving as an interface between the managers and the team, had expressed doubts about his ability to deliver the promised added value following recent developments. Media reports suggest that Stanic had been critical of coach Edin Terzic following a Champions League home game against AC Milan.
Although BVB did not allow questions about Stanic in a press conference, it was revealed that the former second-division professional had harshly criticized Terzic in a box at the Dortmund stadium. Despite the alleged tension, Borussia Dortmund continues to make headlines in German soccer, competing in the Bundesliga and preparing for upcoming matches.
