BVB must do without Süle in Milan
Borussia Dortmund will be without international soccer player Niklas Süle for Tuesday's Champions League match (9 p.m./Amazon Prime) at AC Milan. The 28-year-old central defender is absent due to illness, BVB announced. However, center forward Sébastien Haller and winger Karim Adeyemi, who were still missing from Saturday's 4-2 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, were present for the team's departure from Dortmund Airport to Italy on Monday morning. Midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is injured. Felix Nmecha and Julien Duranville are missing due to long-term injuries.
The Bundesliga fourth-placed team go into the match against Milan, who are two points off third. A win would see coach Edin Terzic's team qualify for the round of 16 on the penultimate matchday of what is probably the toughest group. "Going to Milan as league leaders is something we've worked for in recent weeks. But we know that we have a tough task ahead of us there tomorrow," said sporting director Sebastian Kehl. "It will be a tight affair tomorrow."
Despite Niklas Süle's absence due to illness, Borussia Dortmund still hopes to secure a win against AC Milan in the Champions League. The absence of Süle leaves Borussia Dortmund's defense weaker, as they face a tough match against the Italian side, who are chasing a spot in the round of 16.
