BVB coach on reserve player Haller: "Will still be important for us"
Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic has encouraged his current reserve Sébastien Haller. "Sébastien hasn't had an easy time. Nevertheless, we can see how he is dealing with it. He's very hard-working," said the soccer coach on Friday about the striker, who has only been a substitute at BVB for almost two months.
According to Terzic, this is unlikely to change, at least in the short term. "He is trying everything to improve his situation. But we know that we have three guys for that position up front," said the BVB coach, referring to internationals Niclas Füllkrug, Youssoufa Moukoko and Haller.
The 29-year-old Ivory Coast international overcame testicular cancer but has not scored in nine appearances so far this season. "Sébastien will fight his way back. We are very sure that he will be very important for us over the course of the season," said Terzic, who will take his team to VfB Stuttgart on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky).
In light of Terzic's optimism, Borussia Dortmund might rely on Sébastien Haller's resilience during their upcoming games, given his significant role in the Bundesliga squad. Despite him being on the reserves for several weeks, Haller's past performance for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, such as his time before dealing with cancer, indicates his potential impact on the soccer pitch.
