A fellow citizen in Emden saved a tipsy gentleman from suffocating in a muddy trench. Seems the 50-year-old stumbled into the mess, likely due to drinking too much, according to the police announcement on Sat. Our hero saw the situation, jumped into action, and kept the guy's noggin above water till the emergency squad was alerted. The responding cops retrieved the 50-year-old from the water and handed him off to the EMTs on a Friday night.
