Busy Philipps discloses her ADHD diagnosis coinciding with her daughter's.

"Unable to prioritize my tasks, I was coming up with wonderful ideas but not completing them," Philipps mentioned in a recent interview with CNN. This week, while taking her 15-year-old daughter, Birdie, to the doctor, she found out she had ADHD, just like her daughter. She decided to get an evaluation and started treatment for her ADHD as an adult.

"This is not an uncommon experience, especially for women," she added. The percentage of women diagnosed with ADHD has almost doubled in recent years. Women tend to believe they have to do it all, and taking care of their own mental health is often neglected.

The Mayo Clinic explains, "Adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) involves persistent difficulties, such as trouble paying attention, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior." People with ADHD may face poor work or school performance, low self-esteem, and other issues.

Philipps noted that the appropriate medication, a non-stimulant suited for her, has led to feeling more organized. She no longer double-books or triple-books events. It's also helped her manage her mental well-being.

"I've always internalized things, so I feel bad about myself and wonder what's wrong with me," she said. "Other moms seem to handle their schedules effortlessly and arrive at birthday parties on time. I'm the one who's struggling."

Her diagnosis has had a positive impact on her career as well. She stars in "Girls5eva," which gained attention thanks to Netflix after being cancelled by Peacock. Her new weekly talk show, "Busy This Week," will debut May 8 on QVC+.

"We are the queens of getting a second chance," Philipps stated about "Girls5eva." "We've been working on this show for almost four years, and we always felt like we were waiting for the right audience to find us."

She'd been searching for a way to revive her talk show career since "Busy Tonight" was canceled in 2019.

"We were considering various options, such as sending it directly to people's inboxes or building a website around it," Philipps shared. However, the QVC+ partnership turned out to be the perfect fit. "They were looking to create original content, and their audience shares many similarities with ours."

"Busy This Week" premieres on QVC+ on May 8.
