- Business delegates, led by Neubaur, journey to the United States.
The Green Party's Economic Minister for North Rhine-Westphalia, Mona Neubaur, has embarked on a journey to the USA with a team of economic and scientific bigwigs. As per the state administration, there are multiple engagements lined up in California and Minnesota until Friday. The ministry stated that the focus of the trip is on current economic, energy, and environmental policies.
In California, Neubaur will engage with the state's Environmental Protection Minister, alongside others. The tour in Minnesota will include a visit to a firm specializing in hydrogen production. At Stanford University, Neubaur has meetings scheduled with the "Bits & Watts" team, working on the future of an energy grid. As Deputy Minister President, social policy gatherings are also part of the itinerary, as announced.
Neubaur herself mentioned that the US is not just a significant player in political and democratic fields but also plays a crucial role in economic and trade affairs for North Rhine-Westphalia and the Federal Republic. She emphasized the importance of "strengthening and deepening these connections with firm commitments."
The US, with a trade value of roughly 33 billion euros, is one of the key trading partners for North Rhine-Westphalia, as confirmed by the Ministry of Economics. Several US corporations also choose to establish their roots in the federal state. The recent ambitions of tech giant Microsoft, regarding billion-dollar data centers in the Rhine region, have caught everyone's eye.
The Government of North Rhine-Westphalia recognizes the US as a vital partner in economic and trade affairs, as expressed by Neubaur. During her trip, Mona Neubaur will meet with the US Environmental Protection Minister to discuss environmental policies.
