Diepholz - Bus collides with tree: driver seriously injured
A bus left the road in Bruchhausen-Vilsen (Diepholz district) on Monday evening and crashed into a tree. Five people were injured, the bus driver seriously, according to the police. According to initial findings, the 67-year-old bus driver lost control due to a medical emergency, initially touched two house walls on the left with his vehicle and finally crashed into the tree on the right.
The driver was trapped in the accident and had to be freed by the fire department. He was seriously injured and flown to hospital in a rescue helicopter. The four passengers, aged between 18 and 27, were slightly injured and transported to hospital. The scene of the accident had to be closed. The police estimate the material damage at 160,000 euros.
