Suddenly, smoke starts rising from the engine of a bus at a bus stop. Luckily, the bus driver notices this quickly.

A city bus suddenly caught fire at a bus stop in Dogern (Waldshut district) on the border with Switzerland. The driver noticed smoke rising from the engine compartment early on. He and nine passengers were able to evacuate the bus safely and unharmed, as a police spokesperson reported. Preliminary estimates suggest that the bus sustained total damage of 40,000 euros. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire.

The fire also damaged the bus shelter, a lawn area, and a streetlight, resulting in an estimated 3,000 euros in damages. The cause of the fire on Thursday remains unknown.

The driver urgently announced for everyone to "Stop" as soon as they noticed the smoke. After the successful evacuation, the authorities advised passengers not to "Stop" returning to the area until further investigation.
