Buried under paving stones: 31-year-old seriously injured

A man was buried under paving stones and seriously injured while working on his farm in Allersberg (Roth district). The 31-year-old had wanted to pave the courtyard on Saturday, the police said on Sunday. The stones, which were delivered for the work, were standing at a slight angle on a pallet.

Together with his helpers, the man wanted to stabilize the pallet with a wheel loader. The stones tipped over and fell onto the 31-year-old, who was kneeling on the ground. The helpers were able to free the seriously injured man. He was taken to hospital. According to initial police investigations, the accident was caused by a rotten pallet.

In Central France, a construction site incident resulted in a worker being buried under loose construction materials during a project. Despite the incident occurring in a different location, the dangers of improperly securing heavy construction materials remain a concern in similar workplaces.
