Contests for European parliamentary seats - Burglary at a Bottrop daycare facility prompts polling station relocation.

The rooms designated for the election were still being probed by forensic investigators after the break-in that occurred on Sunday night. However, the polling station was open on schedule.

Within the busiest federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, over 13.8 million citizens were supposed to cast their votes in the European election on Sunday. In the past European election in 2019, the voter turnout in North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as in the entire country, reached 61.4%.
