National political gathering - BSW prepares its election plan and nominees.

Allianz Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) will determine their list for Thuringia's state election on the 1st of September during their party conference taking place this Saturday, starting from 10:00 am. Apart from deciding on the list, they'll also be finalizing their campaign program.

It seems that Katja Wolf, a current mayor of Eisenach and a former member of the Left Party, is being proposed as the leader for the state election by the BSW state executive committee. She'll potentially be joined by Steffen Schütz, an entrepreneur and co-chairman of Thuringia's BSW state association, who's tipped to occupy the second spot on the list. Steffen Quasebarth, another former MDR moderator, plans to join the BSW in their bid for office, and might be placed third depending on the outcome of the members' votes at this weekend's event in Erfurt.

BSW was established in Thuringia in the month of March with the ambition to contend in the September 1st state election. The latest surveys in this region suggest that the alliance currently lies between 13% - 16% in the polls. During the recent district elections, this new party managed to get double-digit votes in three districts and was successful in electing Bleicherode's mayor.
