Voting process - BSW prepares an election agenda and a state roster.
The upcoming Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) gathering on Saturday (beginning at 10:00 am) will determine the list for the Thuringia state elections as well as create a party program. The mayor of Eisenach and ex-Left Party member, Katja Wolf, is suggested to spearhead the state election list, as per the recommendation of the BSW state executive committee.
In second position, businessman Steffen Schütz, who, like Wolf, serves as co-chairperson of the Thuringian BSW branch, will stand. Steffen Quasebarth, a former MDR emcee, intends to launch his candidacy for a political position and hopes to secure third place. However, the decision on these assignments will be made by the BSW members at the assembly on Saturday in Erfurt.
The BSW emerged in Thuringia in March and aims to take part in the state elections on September 1st. Recent surveys show the budding party got between 13 and 16% support in the region. On the preceding Sunday, the alliance received double-digit results in three regions and tapped the mayor of Bleicherode as one of their leaders.
