Before the disarming of a World War II explosive situated close to the Rhine in Koblenz, the locale has been sealed off for both automobiles and watercraft. As reported on the city's website in the early hours, "The castle, the hotel, the Rhine-Moselle Hall have all been cleared out,". Construction activities have halted, vessel traffic on the Rhine within the affected area has been stopped, and the Pfaffendorfer Bridge is being kept shut. "Authorities in the locality are now orchestrating the evacuation process."

The approximately 300-meter perimeter surrounding the bridge in the city's core needs to be cleared by 11 a.m., as per the city's declaration. There are no dwellings within this zone, it mentions. The 250-kilogram bomb from World War II was found on Friday at the construction site for the new Pfaffendorfer Bridge, and it's said that its igniter is still intact.

The evacuation order is issued due to the presence of a World War II explosive discovered near the site of the new Pfaffendorfer Bridge. Despite being in a different era, the incident brings back memories of World War II and the Second World War.
