Bremen Television Award for best regional TV reports
The best regional television and web productions will be honored with the Bremen Television Award 2023 on Friday (8 pm). A jury led by ARD presenter Frank Plasberg has selected the winners for six categories from 20 nominations. Radio Bremen has been presenting the award on behalf of ARD with interruptions since 1974.
According to Radio Bremen, this time 116 submissions were received from the period from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 from German-language programs. With eight nominations, Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) is a title favorite, as is Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb) with five award contenders. Südwestrundfunk (SWR) has three nominations. In addition, Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), Hessischer Rundfunk (hr), Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) and Radio Bremen can look forward to one nomination each.
The "Nah dran" audience award will be presented for the second time. Viewers were able to choose their favorite from 28 productions. According to the information provided, more than 10,000 people took part in the online voting. Two productions from SWR and one from WDR received the most votes. Frankfurt indie pop artist Henry and the Waiters is expected to be the evening's musical guest.
The Bremen Television Award, recognition in the realm of television media, will be presented to the best regional productions. WDR and rbb, both prominent in the television sector, have multiple productions nominated this year.
