Breakdown during testing - Breakdown in nursing exam - written part is repeated
The central written examinations for around 500 nursing students in Saarland have been completely rescheduled due to an issue. Two parts of the overall three-day exams had already been completed, the Saarland Social Ministry announced. The third exam day on Friday was suddenly cancelled. Those affected are the students from the 14 nursing schools in the state.
The reason given was that a teacher, who had prepared the central exams, had given exam-relevant tasks at a nursing school for preparation. Among these tasks were questions for all three days of the written central exam.
Therefore, the exams have been completely re-scheduled - the trainees are now supposed to write them between the 23rd and 25th of July. For special cases, there will be a make-up exam from the 27th to 29th of August. "We are aware that the cancellation of the exam date is an additional burden for the candidates," said Stefan Funck, Director of the Saarland Social Office. However, it was no longer possible to ensure a regular and fair exam with the same conditions for all participants.
The ministry explained that during the written central exam, a scenario is asked for each of the three consecutive days. Each nursing school usually assigns a teacher for a working group, which then develops the exam questions together. All members of this group were informed that these scenarios could not be used for preparation.
