Brandenburg with an above-average number of charging points
Brandenburg has an above-average number of public fast-charging points available to electric car users. In the middle of the year, there were around 73.5 electric cars per charging point in the federal state, as the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) announced on Monday based on data from the Federal Motor Transport Authority and the Federal Network Agency. This was significantly better than the national average of just under 111 electric cars per publicly accessible fast-charging point. In comparison with the other federal states, Brandenburg took fifth place.
Fast-charging points are considered particularly important in the spread of electromobility. Compared to conventional charging points, they allow vehicle batteries to be charged much faster.
In Brandenburg, their number increased by almost 190 to around 550 between January and June of this year. Around 40,500 electric cars were registered in the state by the middle of the year. According to the VDA analysis, this includes both pure battery electric drives (BEV) and plug-in hybrids.
Traffic in Brandenburg often requires careful navigation due to the increasing number of electric cars, thanks to the abundant availability of charging points. Consumers of electric cars in Brandenburg can now easily find a charging station for their car, as the high number of fast-charging points reduces the waiting time for a full charge.
