Brandenburg State Court of Audit presents annual report
The Brandenburg State Court of Auditors will present its annual report to the state parliament on Monday (11.00 a.m.). This year, following the scandal at RBB, the auditors audited the broadcasting and administrative boards and their Berlin colleagues audited the remuneration of the broadcasting management. The auditors' proposals were largely incorporated into the draft reform of the RBB State Treaty.
It is expected that the State Court of Auditors will also comment on the consequences for Brandenburg following the ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court on the reallocation of special assets. One focus will be on the Karlsruhe judges' emphasis on the budgetary principle of annuality. The AfD parliamentary group in the state parliament has filed a lawsuit against the state government's Brandenburg package to cushion the consequences of the war in Ukraine with debts amounting to two billion euros, which is set to run for two years.
A finding by the State Court of Auditors that 4,400 rounds of ammunition disappeared during police shooting training in Frankfurt (Oder) has already been made public. Further statements on this are also expected in the annual report.
The annual report from the Brandenburg State Court of Auditors might provide insights on how the state will manage its finances in light of the ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court. The AfD in the state parliament is hoping for scrutiny from the auditors regarding the two-billion-euro Brandenburg package.
