County of Regensburg - Brakes catch fire: 50 passengers have to leave the train

Around 50 passengers had to leave a regional train in the Upper Palatinate after its brakes caught fire. According to the federal police on Monday, the train driver noticed on Saturday near Nittendorf(Regensburg district) that the train was not picking up speed properly. He therefore initiated an emergency stop at a station and began to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher. The fire department later provided assistance.

No people were injured in the incident. The approximately 50 passengers were accommodated in the local fire station until they were able to take another train back to Regensburg.
