BR Volleys struggle to a tiebreak win in Herrsching

The Berlin Volleys suffered their first minor setback on the third matchday of the Volleyball Bundesliga. The German champions won 3:2 (25:19, 22:25, 25:16, 17:25, 15:12) at Volleys Herrsching in Munich on Monday, but had to concede a point for the first time after losing the two sets. Marek Sotola converted the third match point at the end.

Less than 48 hours after the 3:2 cup win at VfB Friedrichshafen, the serves of setter Johannes Tille gave the visitors a 1:0 set lead in the final phase of the first set. However, the Berliners temporarily lost their rhythm in the second period after leading 16:14.

The team led by captain Ruben Schott seemed to have recovered quickly from losing the set, but then suffered an embarrassing 0:11-point run in the fourth set when Herrsching's Filip John was serving at 16:13. The capital city club then proved its nerves of steel in the tie-break.

The BR Volleys already had reason to celebrate before the match. In the draw for the cup quarter-finals, they were given a solvable task in the second division team Blue Volleys Gotha. The game will be played in Gotha on November 19.

Despite theirstrong performance in the Volleyball Bundesliga, BR Volleys faced a challenging tiebreak against Volleys Herrsching in Munich. Despite losing two sets and a temporary loss of rhythm in the second set, they managed to claim victory in the Bundesliga, ensuring they continue their undefeated run in the Bundesliga's 'Bundesliga' competition.
