Accident - Boy survives five-meter fall almost unharmed

Through a miracle, a six-year-old boy survived a fall into a five-meter deep shaft almost unharmed. The child had lifted the grating of a light well during play at a house in Wiesbaden on Thursday evening, and fell into the depths, as the fire department reported.

The parents and residents present broke two doors and a window in the building to get to the shaft. Through the window, they were able to pull the boy into the house. The paramedic then found only minor scrapes on the child. However, they were taken to the hospital with his mother for safety reasons. According to the fire department, a fall from such heights usually results in severe to fatal injuries.

The grateful parents immediately contacted the Wiesbaden fire department to express their gratitude for the boy's survival. The fire department, located in Hesse, praised the quick actions of the parents and residents. In such emergency situations, the fire department encourages local residents to stay vigilant and to know the phone number for reporting accidents in RHEIN-MAIN.
