Despite a disappointing season so far, national handball player David Schmidt has extended his contract with Frisch Auf Göppingen for a further two years. The 30-year-old left-hander's contract now runs until the summer of 2026, the Bundesliga handball club announced on Tuesday. Göppingen is currently bottom of the table and has only won two of its eleven games so far this season.
Frisch Auf Göppingen's Handball Bundesliga campaign has been challenging, with the team only securing two victories in eleven matches. Regardless, Schmidt, a prominent handball player in the German national team, has decided to continue his relationship with Frisch Auf Göppingen, signing a contract extension that keeps him at the club until 2026.
