- Borussia Dortmund presents business figures
Borussia Dortmund, a Bundesliga football club, will present its preliminary figures for the 2023/2024 financial year at a press conference on Friday (11:30 AM). After challenging years during the COVID-19 pandemic with millions in losses, Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA reported a profit of 9.5 million euros for the first time last year. Following their run to the UEFA Champions League final in London and qualification for the competition again, BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is expected to present positive figures for the fiscal year ending in Dortmund in June.
In May, the company listed on the SDax already significantly revised its earnings expectations upwards. The BVB had already reported an increase in revenue in its half-year results in February.
Last year, Borussia Dortmund reported a 12 percent increase in revenue to 515.4 million euros, including transfer income, following the transfers of striker Erling Haaland and defender Manuel Akanji (both to Manchester City). In the 2023/2024 financial year, the BVB sold Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid.
The financial success of Borussia Dortmund in the recent past is evident, as they reported a profit in the 2022 financial year after several challenging years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The positive trends are expected to continue, as the stock market might be interested to know that Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA's shares could potentially perform well based on the club's strong financial performance and promising future in the football arena.
