Borussia Dortmund earns more in the first quarter
Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has started the new 2023/24 financial year with a profit increase thanks to higher earnings from transfer deals. In the three months to the end of September, consolidated net income increased from EUR 38.5 million in the previous year to EUR 52.4 million, as the SDax-listed soccer club announced in Dortmund on Friday. The result from transfer deals increased by around a third to 82.3 million euros.
Group revenue, on the other hand, fell by just under two percent to 102.3 million euros in the first quarter. While Borussia Dortmund generated less revenue from match operations, TV marketing and advertising, income from the marketing of products, for example, increased.
The company plans to present its full quarterly statement on November 10.
Borussia Dortmund's success in the soccer field isn't limited to the pitch, as their earnings from transfer deals significantly contributed to their first-quarter profit. Despite a minor revenue decrease in other areas, stock exchanges might be interested in the club's promising quarterly figures, including a substantial increase in income from transfer deals.
