Crime - Border policeman almost hit by getaway car
A German customs officer of the Federal Police came close to being hit by a getaway car on Autobahn 93. The Austrian-registered car reportedly missed the customs officer according to police reports, only because the man was able to swerve out of the way in time.
Behind the wheel of the car was allegedly a 47-year-old Austrian man who was on the run from two Austrian police patrols.
He was eventually arrested near Kiefersfelden and reportedly showed "aggressive behavior to a high degree." The Federal Police accuse him of committing multiple offenses.
In addition to the investigations by the Austrian police, the man also has to reckon with a legal proceeding in Germany. He was reported to the Rosenheim Federal Police for resisting execution officers, insulting, and driving without a valid driver's license.
- The getaway car, having evaded two Austrian police patrols, was involved in a close call with a German customs officer from the Federal Police on Autobahn 93.
- Upon his arrest near Kiefersfelden, the Austrian man displayed an alarming degree of aggression towards the Federal Police officers, which could potentially be added to his list of offenses.
- The suspect's departure in the getaway car led him across the Bavarian-Austrian border, where he is now also under investigation by border control for possible crime-related activities.
- Despite the impressive driving skills that allowed him to evade the police, the 47-year-old Austrian man's happiness seemed to falter as the getaway car came to a halt, and he was faced with the looming consequences of his actions.
