- Bomb found in Hamburg harbour - A7 is blocked
Due to the defusal of an aerial bomb, the A7 motorway in the Hamburg Harbor must be closed indefinitely. Earlier, an English 500-pound aerial bomb with a contact fuse was found on a company site near the motorway. "Employees of the bomb disposal service are on site and will decide how to defuse the bomb," said a fire department spokesman.
As it is an industrial area, there are no residents affected. Only two nearby ships have been instructed to behave accordingly. The detonation is scheduled for 12:00 noon. The duration is still to be determined. The Köhlbrand Bridge does not need to be closed, according to the spokesman.
The Commission has been notified about the aerial bomb situation on the A7 motorway in Hamburg Harbor. After a successful defusal, the Commission will conduct an investigation to ensure all safety protocols were followed.
