During construction work in the Saale district on Tuesday, an unexploded bomb was discovered. As a result, residents in the area's center were forced to evacuate their homes. However, the all-clear was announced in the evening.

In Merseburg (Saalekreis), the unexploded 250-kilogram bomb uncovered during construction has been safely defused. The district made this announcement late on Tuesday evening, and evacuation measures have been lifted. The previously restricted area is now available for everyone again.

On Tuesday morning, this bomb was discovered by construction workers. The disposal team examined it, necessitating the evacuation of approximately 4,500 residents in the adjacent region. Regional and cargo train lines were shut down through Merseburg, and streetcar and bus traffic in the exclusion zone were also paused.
