Bomb blast: Germendorf dinosaur park closes on Thursday
Due to the planned detonation of a world war bomb, the Germendorf dinosaur park (Oberhavel district) will be closed on Thursday. From 10.00 a.m., a restricted area will be in force around the site in the Oranienburg district of Germendorf, as the town of Oranienburg announced on Wednesday. Residents and roads will not be affected. If the detonation of the 50-kilo unexploded bomb goes smoothly, the exclusion zone can be lifted again at around 1.00 pm. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service of the State of Brandenburg (KMBD) had located the unexploded bomb in a wooded area.
The closure of the dinosaur park is a precautionary measure due to the emergencies associated with the bomb blast. Underestimating the consequences of war can lead to unexpected discoveries of such unexploded bombs, posing potential risks.
