Hollywood - "Bodyguard" actor Bill Cobbs died at the age of 90
American actor Bill Cobbs, who appeared in nearly 200 film and television productions during his long career, has passed away. He died in the early hours of Wednesday in the Inland Empire area of Southern California, surrounded by his family, his representative Chuck Jones informed the German Press Agency. Cobbs was 90 years old.
Cobbs appeared alongside Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in the hit romance "Bodyguard" (1992). In this film, he portrayed the manager of pop singer Rachel Marron (Houston). In the comedy "Night at the Museum" (2006) and its sequel "Night at the Museum: The Secret of the Tomb" (2014), he played Reginald the Night Guard alongside Ben Stiller.
Cobbs made his first small film role in the thriller "The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3" (1974) after theater engagements in the early 70s. He then went on to act in films such as "Silkwood," "Demolition Man," "The Hudsucker Proxy," or "The Wizard of Oz." He also appeared in numerous television productions and was awarded a Daytime Emmy Award in 2020 for his performance in the children's series "Dino Dana."
Cobbs' acting career spanned both the USA and Hollywood, with appearances in numerous movie and television productions.
