A 60-year-old man from Raubling (County Rosenheim) was found dead in his car in Southern Italy. His 31-year-old son was subsequently arrested by Italian authorities as a suspect, the police reported. Both had been reported missing on Monday evening.

The police informed the Italian authorities on Tuesday afternoon. They found the 60-year-old's car, with a male body inside. While the identification was not yet complete on Wednesday, "it is presumed that this is the missing 60-year-old man from Raubling," the police said.

The Criminal Police in Rosenheim and the Public Prosecutor's Office in Traunstein are now investigating on suspicion of homicide. Initially, investigators are looking for witnesses.

The man hailing from Raubling, a town in Bavaria's Rosenheim county, had been on a trip in Southern Italy. The Criminal Police in Bavaria's neighboring region, Rosenheim, are now actively involved in the investigation.
