Over the weekend, a husband phoned for help during the evening on Saturday. On Monday, rescuers discovered a woman's body in the cellar, later confirmed to be a 43-year-old. Prior to that, they had pumped water out of the cellar.

The previous night, a firefighter perished while carrying out a rescue operation in Pfaffenhofen, located in Upper Bavaria. In the town of Offingen within the district of Günzburg, a young firefighter, aged 22, went missing after their boat with five rescuers capsized during the same night.

Heavy rain showers led to dramatic increases in water levels throughout numerous rivers and streams in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Whole villages were flooded, despite broken dams.
