A lower-tier soccer team, 1. FC Magdeburg, has made another key player announcement. As per the statement released on Tuesday, they've decided to extend the deal with their defender, Herbert Bockhorn. Like usual, the length of his new contract wasn't disclosed. Bockhorn has been with the Elbe Stars since September 2022, and in those matches from the 2nd League, he has managed to net four goals and give six assists.

As per the team's declaration, Bockhorn had an expiring contract and had been offered a new deal by the club for some time now. However, he initially turned down their offer. After parting ways, his mind changed. Now, he's signed a new contract. FCM's managing director, Otmar Schork, expressed their delight in this development. "We're thrilled Herbert Bockhorn has now accepted our offer to extend his contract. In the previous round, he scored three goals and provided three assists.", he said.
