Bochum training without Losilla - coach Letsch annoyed

Bundesliga club VfL Bochum were without captain Anthony Losilla, who was taken ill, for their final training session on Friday. The 37-year-old and Danilo Soares are both in danger of being ruled out for the important match against 1. FC Köln on Saturday (18:30/Sky). Soares suffered a knock to his knee in training and had to pull out of the session. Bochum coach Thomas Letsch was tight-lipped when asked about the two personnel issues after the public session. With regard to Losilla's involvement, the VfL coach merely said: "I'm confident."

Ahead of the direct relegation battle duel between 14th-placed Bochum (8 points) and bottom-placed Cologne (5), Letsch was also annoyed by what he saw as overly high expectations in Bochum. "It gets on my nerves that I have to justify myself for it," said Letsch, when asked about the team's development in terms of play. The coach pointed out that the number of points and the league position were decisive for Bochum.

Despite Losilla's absence due to illness, VfL Bochum continues to prepare for their crucial Bundesliga clash against 1. FC Köln. The team's captain was joined by Danilo Soares on the sidelines, as the latter sustained a knee injury during training. With these two key players potentially unavailable, the pressure on Soccer team VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga's relegation battle against Köln increases.
