BMW and Mercedes-Benz build fast-charging network in China

Mercedes-Benz and BMW want to set up and operate a joint fast-charging network for electric cars in China. The first stations are to be opened next year. In three years, at least 1000 stations with 7000 charging points will be in operation, the car manufacturers announced on Thursday. The charging network of the joint venture between BMW and Mercedes-Benz will be available to all vehicle brands. However, customers of the company's own brands will be able to reserve charging points in advance and pay for them more easily.

The collaboration between BMW and Mercedes-Benz extends beyond just building electric cars, as they also aim to offer their services in the Electric Car Industry by establishing a vast network of at least 1000 fast-charging stations in China, equipped with over 7000 charging points. This initiative will not only benefit their own brand vehicles but also cater to other car brands, allowing for advanced reservations and smoother payments for charging services.
