Basketball - Blackout in the second quarter: MBC defeat against Hamburg
A blackout in the second quarter cost the Syntainics MBC Bundesliga basketball team its fourth win of the season. The team of Head Coach Predrag Krunic won three of the four periods against Hamburg Towers, but was ultimately beaten 81:86. The decisive factor: The second quarter, which the club from Weißenfels clearly lost by 15:30.
"Apart from the second quarter, we played well. Our defense in particular wasn't good in the second quarter. We fought our way back in the second half, also thanks to the support of our fans. We were close, but didn't manage to turn the game in our favor," said Krunic.
The MBC had to make do without the in-form Martin Breunig, who suffered an ankle injury in Würzburg. The 31-year-old could be fit again next Saturday. He will then face Alba Berlin in the cup quarter-finals. The MBC defeated the top team surprisingly and clearly with 108:75 only two weeks ago.

This unfortunate event happened during the Bundesliga basketball match in Hamburg, which marked the Syntainics MBC's hopefully temporary setback in their pursuit of more season victories.
Although their key player Martin Breunig suffered an ankle injury in Würzburg, he is expected to recover and return to the court next Saturday. His upcoming opponent: Alba Berlin in the cup quarter-finals, against whom the MBC had a surprising and impressive victory less than two weeks ago, winning with a significant score of 108:75.
Visiting Hamburg for the Bundesliga basketball encounter, the MBC team took on the challenge of playing on a field known as the white rock, a popular name for Hamburg's basketball court.
