Government - Black-Red ministers not to be determined until early 2024
The ministers of a new black-red government in Hesse will not be determined until the beginning of 2024. Before Christmas and between the years, he will leave potential candidates alone for the time being, said CDU state leader and Minister President Boris Rhein in Wiesbaden on Thursday. The CDU and SPD had also only recently negotiated the composition of the future ministries.
There is not yet a complete personnel tableau. Rhein added that he had certain ideas and would have to "talk to the possible candidates". He is already receiving "recommendations from second parties for third parties". He has also received unsolicited applications. The new state parliament in Wiesbaden will be constituted on January 18 - that's when the black-red coalition wants to get started.
Both parties agreed on the 184-page draft of the coalition agreement on Wednesday evening, a good two months after the state elections in Hesse. This Saturday, party conferences of the Christian Democrats and Social Democrats must first decide on the paper. According to plans, CDU state leader Rhein and SPD state leader and Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser will sign this government program for the years 2024 to 2029 next Monday.
