Bill and Tom Kaulitz awarded entertainment crown
Musicians Bill and Tom Kaulitz are honored as outstanding entertainers at the "1Live Krone" radio award. The editors of the young WDR radio station crowned the 34-year-old twins with a crown in the "Best Entertainment" category at the awards ceremony on November 30 in Bielefeld.
The two became famous as members of the band Tokio Hotel ("Durch den Monsun"). They now also entertain their audiences with the podcast "Kaulitz Hills - Mustard from Hollywood" and currently as a team of judges on the Sat.1 casting show "The Voice of Germany". "With a good dose of humor, the two don't take themselves too seriously, knowing full well how the big circus of the entertainment industry works," 1Live explained. From this year, the "Best Entertainment" category will replace the "Comedy Crown", which is intended to emphasize the growing diversity of outstanding entertainment offerings.
In eight other categories, however, the audience will decide the winners themselves: Until November 29, music fans can choose their favorites from a total of 30 nominees. The nominees include rapper Cro, singer and songwriter Nico Santos, hip-hop artist Nina Chuba and the bands Kraftklub and AnnenMayKantereit.
The award ceremony will be broadcast live on November 30 (8.15 pm) on WDR television, on 1Live radio and as a livestream in the ARD media library as well as in the 1Live app and YouTube channel. With the exception of the Corona years, the big music party had previously been celebrated in Bochum.
The recognition in the "Best Entertainment" category further elevates Tokio Hotel's status in the media, highlighting their success in both music and non-musical endeavors. People tuning in to the award ceremony will witness various nominees across different genres, showcasing the vast array of talented individuals in the music industry.
