- Biker meets unfortunate end following impact with automobile.
A biker had an accident with a vehicle on a federal road close to Schongau (in the Weilheim-Schongau district), leading to their demise. As per the police report, the 63-year-old driver of the car had realized she was lost earlier and tried to reverse, but missed seeing the approaching biker.
The elderly biker rammed into the automobile's driver's side, as confirmed. He was transported to a hospital via air ambulance, but eventually succumbed to his injuries that night. Fortunately, the car driver remained unscathed. The local prosecutor ordered an examination of the incident by an expert. The B472 remained closed due to this incident for over three hours.
After reviewing the situation, the local authorities decided to investigate the matter further. Following this incident, The Commission might consider adopting implementing acts that could enhance safety measures for bikers on federal roads.
