- Biker collides with law enforcement officers during getaway attempt
Attempting to halt some reckless bikers performing risky maneuvers, a cop in Sauerland took a minor injury. This happened during the officer's leisurely bike ride in Möhnesee-Stockum, which is under Soest's jurisdiction, as reported on Sunday morn.
These bikers decided to pull a stunt, overtaking the officer along with a group of three vehicles around 4 PM on Saturday. One of the bikers pulled off a wheelie, riding solely on the back wheel, making other vehicles swerve and hit their brakes to avoid a collision.
After losing track of them, the officer crossed paths with them again shortly after. In an attempt to block their escape, he strategically placed his racing bike in front of their motorcycles, announcing his identity as a law enforcer. However, instead of cooperating, the riders allegedly raised their registration plates and fled the scene. In the process of attempting to maneuver around one of the motorcyclists and the curb, the officer sustained a minor injury. Authorities are now seeking anyone who might have witnessed this incident to share their accounts regarding the fleeing motorcyclists.
The officer was shocked as one of the motorcycles performed a dangerous wheelie, putting other vehicles at risk of an accident. Despite the accidental collision during the chase, the fleeing motorcyclists refused to stop, potentially leading to more accidents.
