Bietigheim women lose top match in premier class
The SG BBM Bietigheim women's handball team lost their top match in the Champions League against Hungarian club ETO Györ 26:34 (10:12). It was the second defeat for the German champions and cup winners in the current group phase of the premier class. However, the Hungarians have dominated their domestic league for many years, have won the Champions League several times and are regarded as one of the best women's teams in Europe.
Frenchwoman Estelle Nze Minko was the visitors' most successful scorer on Saturday with seven goals. Kaba Gassama and Sofia Hvenfelt each scored four times for the SG.
The SG BBM Bietigheim's struggle in the Champions League continued as they lost another challenging match, this time against Champions League titans ETO Györ. Despite a valiant effort from Kaba Gassama and Sofia Hvenfelt who scored four goals each, Bietigheim's Handball team could not overcome their European opponents, falling short with a score of 26:34.
