The President continued looking at Trump, expressing his gratitude that he was "hearing that he is safe and doing well". "I pray for him and his family, and for all those who were at the event as we wait for more information."

Shortly after his statement, Biden was expected to address the press. The President would speak about the incident during Trump's campaign rally at the small town of Butler in Pennsylvania, according to the White House.

The incident in the US state of Pennsylvania occurred while Trump was on stage at the rally, giving his speech. After reported shootings, law enforcement officers of the Secret Service escorted Trump off the stage and to safety.

Trump's campaign team later announced that the 78-year-old former President was doing well and undergoing medical examination at a local facility. Earlier, the Secret Service, responsible for the protection of sitting and former US Presidents, had stated that Trump was safe and that investigations were ongoing.

The gathering was Trump's last campaign rally before the Republican Party convention, which begins on Monday and officially nominates Trump as the Presidential candidate of the party. The US Presidential election takes place on November 3.
