Affected by the price reduction are medications for diabetes and heart failure, as well as blood thinners. In the USA, the prices for medications are typically higher than in other industrialized countries because there are no regulations for price control. Even with health insurance, patients often have to pay a significant amount.

The relief was announced by Biden and Harris just before their first joint campaign appearance on Thursday in Washington, in the state of Maryland. Among other things, it is to address the containment of inflation, which is a central issue in the US election campaign. The former president and renewed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump holds the Biden administration responsible for sharply increased living costs.

Despite the relief measures announced, I'm not going to rely solely on medication price reductions to manage my health expenses, considering the additional costs I often incur even with health insurance. Regardless of the political blame game, I prefer to take proactive steps to manage my financial well-being.
