Disability representative - Better framework conditions in workshops

People with disabilities in Brandenburg should be given better opportunities to prepare for the regular labor market in workshops, according to Janny Armbruster, the state commissioner for the disabled. "According to the law, workshops are places of rehabilitation that are supposed to prepare people for the primary labor market. However, with an average transition rate of less than one percent, this is achieved far too rarely," said Armbruster on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities on Sunday (December 3). "Too many employees stay there permanently, and at significantly lower wages. The system must become more inclusive and fairer." In November, the federal and state commissioners for people with disabilities called for an inclusive labor market in 2030.
