To thrive in the film industry, those who consider themselves cultural assets need to contribute adequately to the sector, ensuring it remains competitive with major TV channels and streaming platforms, Florian Graf, head of the Berlin Senate Chancellery and MBB supervisory board chairman, emphasizes. For the Cinema Program Award, the MBB has set aside 1.5 million euros. From these funds, Berlin's 44 cinemas receive 1 million euros, and the 26 cinemas in Brandenburg get 500,000 euros.
