The German handball club Bergische HC has pulled back some of its legal measures against the Handball Bundesliga (HBL) planned for this Friday. This was disclosed in a brief statement sent to chosen media outlets on Wednesday. However, the HBL is challenging the veracity of this statement.

In the announcement, the Bergische HC mentioned that they would only bring their inquiry to the court during the oral hearing on Friday. This information was published verbatim in the "Solinger Tageblatt."

The HBL, which has Bergische HC ranked 17th in the sports relegation list, has caused concern with its decision to grant a license to Hamburg HSV for the coming season. The request for access to the licensing documents was made "to clear up the publicly known irregularities in the licensing process in order to protect its right to compete in the 1st Handball Bundesliga," as stated by the BHC.

In addition, the BHC claimed that the HBL requested them to consult with the HBL presidium prior to the decision of the arbitral court regarding their application to play as the 19th team in the Bundesliga next season. The league association refutes this claim: "Given the other, conflicting, and/or misinterpreted statements from the BHC since today, the Handball Bundesliga asserts that it did not ask the BHC to launch a new procedure."
