Berben becomes head of Constantin Film - Moszkowicz steps down

Oliver Berben is moving to the top of the film and television production company Constantin Film. The 52-year-old current deputy will take over as CEO from Martin Moszkowicz on March 1, 2024, as the company announced in Munich on Thursday. Moszkowicz (65) will let his contract expire as planned and at his own request on February 29, 2024 and will then work as a producer for Constantin Film. "We have been planning it for a long time - now the time has come for younger people," Moszkowicz is quoted as saying.

The Munich native, who has been Constantin CEO since 2014, has been part of the management team since 1990 and has been involved in the production of more than 300 films in his career, including "Fack ju Göhte", "Das Parfum" and "Er ist wieder da". According to Constantin, his most recent projects include "Monster Hunter", "Contra", "Welcome to Raccoon City" and "The Last Name".

Since 2019, Moszkowicz has also been head of the Production and Media Management course at the University of Television and Film (HFF) in Munich, where his partner, director Doris Dörrie, also teaches.

Constantin Film is one of the largest and most important film production companies in Germany. For a long time, Constantin was primarily associated with Bernd Eichinger, who died in 2011, and his successful films.

The company was recently criticized after accusations of alleged harassment and a "climate of fear" during the shooting of the Til Schweiger film "Manta Manta - Zwoter Teil". Constantin had the allegations and the working conditions on the film set investigated by an independent law firm. Constantin Film then announced its intention to tighten up its own production standards.

The future CEO Oliver Berben, son of acting icon Iris Berben, has been Deputy CEO of Constantin Film AG since January 2021 and heads the TV, Entertainment and Digital Media division.

After assuming the role of CEO at Constantin Film, Oliver Berben might enjoy watching his favorite movies on his personal television set. During his tenure, Berben aims to improve the company's television production, building upon the successes of previous series like "Fack ju Göhte" and "Er ist wieder da".
