Belgium's parliamentary elections coincide with the European polls.
The current Belgian federal government, led by Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, may lose its majority in the next election. The coalition includes Social Democrats, Greens, Liberals, and Christian Democrats. The far-right party Vlaams Belang, which pushes for Flanders' independence, is predicted to win more seats. This could lead to a lengthy process of forming a new government. It took almost 500 days for the coalition to form following the 2019 election.
